Pleasanton Launches Fall Session for 2015 Leadership-in-Training Program

The City of Pleasanton’s Community Services Department is launching its inaugural fall session for the Leadership-in-Training (LIT) program for teens. This program provides comprehensive training and placement in a volunteer position to work closely with city staff on various projects.

The LIT Program is for students entering grades 9 through 12 in the fall of 2015 and provides teens with the opportunity to develop job skills and prepare for future employment through training, hands-on experience, and evaluation. There is limited space in the program and applicants must be Pleasanton residents. All registered participants will take part in a volunteer placement interview on Tuesday, September 15 from 3:30pm – 5:30pm.

This comprehensive program will cover job skills, customer service, leadership and interviewing. Students will be placed in a volunteer position and work closely with city staff in a role throughout the community services department including sports, art classes, aquatics, drama programs, youth and teens, senior center, community services marketing, youth commission sub-committees or with the Pleasanton public library.
