Pleasanton Police Arrest Woman For Homicide

On Thursday, September 12, 2024, the Pleasanton Police Department arrested a female suspect involved in the fatal stabbing of Pleasanton resident, 32-year-old Edevion White. The incident occurred on May 1, 2023, at a residence at the 5700 block of Owens Drive. The suspect, identified as Kennedy Stith (27), was arrested at her home in Oakland and was later booked at Santa Rita Jail for Penal Code Section 187, Homicide. It was initially reported the victim was fatally stabbed during a robbery by two male suspects wearing ski masks. However, through a year-long investigation, Pleasanton detectives determined this claim was untrue. The victim and the suspect were known to each other. The Pleasanton Police Department would like to thank the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, as well as the California Department of Justice and California Highway Patrol’s Special Operations Unit, for their assistance with this investigation.

The City of Pleasanton extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Edevion White, and we are working closely with them during this challenging period. We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation during this investigation, and we remain committed to ensuring the safety of our community.
