Jeff Nibert

Jeff Nibert was elected to the Pleasanton City Council in November 2022, and is currently serving as Vice Mayor. Prior to his election, Councilmember Nibert served on the Planning Commission from April 2021 through December 2022.

Councilmember Nibert currently serves on multiple City and regional subcommittees, including the Dublin Liaison Committee, Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District Committee, Altamont Landfill Community Monitor Committee, Altamont Landfill Open Space Committee, Livermore Amador Valley Water Management Agency, Tri-Valley San Joaquin Valley Regional Rail Authority, and alternate to the Alameda County Mayors Conference.

As a 37-year resident of Pleasanton, Councilmember Nibert has performed volunteer work for local non-profit organizations, such as the Museum on Main, as well as youth education and charity functions with his church. He serves as a volunteer international luge racing official and is a member of Sons of the American Revolution and Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

Councilmember Nibert earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California. Prior to his retirement, he worked at several large industrial companies throughout his distinguished career as an engineer and project manager.


Councilmember Nibert lives in Pleasanton with his wife, Joan; they are the parents of three adult children and one grandchild. In addition to spending time with family, he enjoys performing living history, genealogy, and traveling.
