Matt Gaidos

Matt Gaidos was elected to the Pleasanton City Council in November 2024. A 40-year Pleasanton resident and an Amador Valley High School graduate, Councilmember Gaidos has a lengthy history of public service and community participation. He served for five years on the City’s Housing Commission and three years on the City’s Planning Commission. He was recently the parliamentarian for the Pleasanton chapter of Boys Team Charity and regularly lectures at the Alameda County Sheriff’s Academy.
Councilmember Gaidos serves on multiple city and regional subcommittees, including the Zone 7 Liaison Committee, Pleasanton Unified School District Liaison Committee, East Bay Regional Park District Liaison Committee, Alameda County Waste Management Authority, Livermore Amador Valley Water Management Agency, the City Legislative Advocacy and Waste and Recycling Council Subcommittees, and as the City’s representative to the Association of Bay Area Governments.
Councilmember Gaidos is a practicing attorney who was appointed Deputy District Attorney for Alameda County. He has served in that role for the past 17 years and has handled some of the county’s most serious and violent cases.
